"When eating bamboo sprouts, remember the man who planted them." - Chinese Proverb

Although someone always will something you don’t have, you can still have gratitude for what you do have.

History of Thanksgiving
Do you really know how Thanksgiving came to be the way it is now? It all started with the Mayflower which landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620. The first Thanksgiving was to celebrate the pilgrims’ first successful harvest in 1621. In fact, Thanksgiving wasn’t planned to be celebrated any year after that. It wasn’t until in 1789 until President George Washington declared Thanksgiving a holiday. But it didn’t become a national holiday until Sara Josepha Hale, protested for over thirty years for a national Thanksgiving holiday. Finally, in 1863, Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday to be celebrated on the final Thursday of November.
Why is it good to be thankful?
It is good to be thankful for what you have because it shows you are respectful and have gratitude. Writing down one thing before you go to sleep every night for a month is going to help you sleep. It makes you feel happier and help you find more friends. If you aren’t thankful, you will never be satisfied.
All in all, to be thankful is to be happy for what you have, not what you need or want. Thanksgiving is a worthy time to think about what you are thankful for. It could be anything, anything at all. Just remember: "When eating bamboo sprouts, remember the man who planted them." - Chinese Proverb
