Introducing LabTime at Blaze

Calling all designers, developers, makers and modelers!

Visit the Blaze STEM Labs and dive right into your very own project. During LabTime sessions, students have access to our cutting-edge technology, design tools as well as the support of an experienced staff member. LabTime is a great way for students to explore, play and create at their own pace.  Bring your designs to life in the 3D Printing Lab or produce your own animated movies in our Virtual Reality Studio.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. What type of project would you like to work on? We currently offer LabTime sessions for projects in our 3D and Virtual Reality labs.
  2. Register for a 1 or 2 hour STEM LabTime session. 
  3. Come in ready to plan, design and create your own project! Please keep in mind that unlike our classes or camps, we do not offer an introductory or skill-building curriculum during LabTime. We highly recommend that students complete a Blaze  STEM class or camp before participating in a LabTime session. 
  4. Pick up your completed project when it’s ready!

SCHEDULE

We currently offer LabTime sessions during the following times:

  • 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM - Saturdays
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Sundays
 

3D LAB | DESIGN & PRINT

YOUR CREATIVE SPACE

Ever wish you could take our state-of-the art 3D printers home with you? Now students (and parents!) can visit our 3D Lab to create a design and watch as it forms on our 3D FDM Printers. During this open design time, an experienced staff member will be on-site to facilitate printing, answer questions and help bring your ideas to life!

TECHNOLOGY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

We supply everything you need to design, model and print your very own 3D creations. Our staff will work with you to review your project and provide guidance to ensure it prints successfully. Once your design is complete, a staff member will upload the file into our system and prepare it for printing. During your session, you may use any of the following tools:

  • Laptops
  •  TinkerCAD online account access
  • FDM 3D Printer filament available in fun colors and textures
  • Staff technical support and printer facilitation

PRICING & PRINT POLICY

Please keep in mind that some prints take several hours to complete and may not be ready for several days. We will contact you when your print is complete and ready for pick-up!

*Prints larger than 60 x 60 x 60mm will require an additional fee to cover the cost of filament. Our staff are always happy to work with you to resize your object to avoid add-on charges.
